Not feeling well

Logan and I made these Saturday evening while Ethan was sick.

This post is all about Ethan and I being sick, so if you don't want to read about it, don't. And if you think the word diarrhea is gross, then stop reading. As some of you know Ethan and I haven't been feeling well the past couple of days. Ethan's started Friday after work and all day Saturday he had diarrhea, was nauseas and was laying on the couch with chills. I did a garage sale Saturday...made a wopping $23! ;)
Saturday night my stomach was feeling a little queasy, but I thought it was from drinking too much sprite. I woke up Sunday morning with the runs, but felt well enough to go to church. I crashed afterwards and we all too very long naps. Logan napped till I woke him up at 6pm! That was very nice of him. That night Ethan wasn't getting any better so we went to take him to Urgent Care, but that is only open till 4pm on Sundays so we had to go to the ER. He got his first IV, which I am proud to say he didn't pass out :) And they gave him some medicine for nausea and diarrhea. I wasn't feeling too great while at the hospital and we didn't know how long we would be there so our friends the Deans came and got Logan for the night.
Ethan and I both got the chills at the hospital, but maybe that's because they keep it so cold! Luckily they have heated blankets. I made many trips to the bathroom myself, (one ending in my pants) so the nurse let me have scrubs to wear home. Yup.
Ethan drove home and I have some ice chips from the hospital with me to suck on; we both hadn't had an appetite for anything. I must have had one go down the wrong pipe because it made me choke and that made me throw up. Darn! I was hoping to go my whole pregnancy without throwing up. Oh well. We got to bed after 11:00. I woke up in the middle of the night because I had 'gone to the bathroom'...not awesome. That happened 2 more times that night so I just decided to spend the night on the floor by the bathroom. Ethan got me some Imodium at 2 am and it took a little while to kick in, but worked.
We picked Logan up in the morning and poor guy had a wreck of parents, we basically just laid on the couch all day long. I had no energy to even stand. Both Ethan and I spent the night on each bathroom floor. But we woke up today feeling much better, not 100% yet and I think I better off than Ethan considering I haven't had any diarrhea today and I was able to eat and drink.
The hospital said it was viral, I hope this doesn't get to Logan, he's been so good having such crummy parents.

Sorry you two have been so sick. Glad you are feeling a little better. That is pretty bad when BOTH of you are sick at the same time. No one to take care of the other.
Love you,

OH my gosh, girl, that's horrible! I've never heard of such a horrible terrible flu. I feel so badly for you. And Logan never got it? thank heavens. (by the way, you can still totally claim a non-nauseous pregnancy...this throw up was completely non-pregnancy related, you know that)

Ugh - I'm so sorry you two have been feeling so cruddy. It's hard when you have a toddler to take care of too. I'm glad you are doing better though!

Yucky! Devin and I had this about two weeks ago but it lasted a week for him (poor guy) and only a day for me! Luckily, my OB took it pretty seriously and even prescribed me some phenigren to help. Is the baby doing okay? I caught a flu pretty bad my last pregnancy (not the Dean one) which resulted in disaster because it dehydrated me too much - so DON'T hesitate to call your OB if it lasts. Mine was only two days, but the damage was done (not to scare you, I'm sure you're fine. But seriously, be careful). Glad to know you are all feeling a little better though and soon you'll be able to get the flu shots. Just not in the 1st and early second trimesters, I think.

Keep me posted on baby name. Will it definitely be the one we talked about? If so, I love it.

Ashley, of course I remember you! How are you guys? Logan is adorable! And congratulations on another boy! I am so jealous you guys live in AZ. That is one place both Luke and I would move to instantly. We LOVE warm weather. We are currently in Minnesota. Luke started a pest control company here and I stay home with our little guy Jordan. It sounds like you guys are doing well. Keep in touch!

Ew, that sucks! It sounds like you both had food poisoning or something. I've never had it myself but both my mom and James have had it at different times and it was a lot of the same stuff--chills, diaherra, thowing up, exhaustion. My mom was so sick she had to go to the ER, too. Yuck. Glad you're feeling better.
