Save the date...

I had a doctor appointment today. This Halloween baby, will it be a boy, a girl? Vote on my other blog. We find out May 26th.

By the way, we are trying to figure out what to do about car seats. It's a lot cheaper to get new car seats than it is to get a new car. I am determined to fit 3 in the back seat. I've got Logan's booster, I'll need an infant seat and a forward facing seat. Any suggestions on SLIM car seats?

Three car seats sounds tight! I think you need a MINI VAN!!!!

We have the Maxi Cosi Priori and specifically got it because it is smaller than seats like the Britax Marathon. If you want, I can give you measurements.

I don't have a good recommendation unfortunately, first, because it's been a long time since I've had carseats and second, because ours always seemed huge and we could barely fit two kids in our car, let alone three. Good luck in your search. Instead this comment is just to say that Halloween birthdays ROCK!!! :)

I know so many people in the slim-carseat situation right now. Including us. LOL. We actually found the third-row seating extended package for our SUV on craigslist (lucky find) so we opted for that at only $300. It was a great deal and we now seat 7 comfortably, but I know one of my friends has a car and tried everything. She finally settled on these for price and because without cupholders, three fit side-by-side in a car. (http://www.walmart.com/catalog/product.do?product_id=10759857)

Good luck. :o)

Oy, that is going to be a tight squeeze! If you can make it happen then you're my hero! It will be easier if Logan is still using the built in harness so you can just anchor the seats in and leave them. The tricky part is when they get big enough to use the car's seat belt because then you have to have enough room between the car seats to actually buckle and unbuckle the belt!

Sorry, I'm no help with the carseats....but wanted to say how fun to have a Halloween Baby!! You look great! I can't wait to find out what you're having! If it's a boy, you can join my club - if it's a girl I will be jealous :o)

we have the cosco (i think that's how you spell it) car seat, we got it as a cheap replacement to the nice (yet huge) one that I left in Florida on a trip there. So the good thing is not only are they slim but they are cheap. I am fairly sure it can be rear facing as well, but I know at least it can be for a one year old.
Good luck though it will be a tight squeeze. ( before I got the van though I did carpool with a friend who had the same one I had and an infant seat and the three fit across the mazda protege)

wow that's so soon to be finding out what you're having already, exciting! So everyone is saying they hope you have a girl next but what do you want? Everyone hoped I had a boy with Eliza "for my sake" but I still really wanted another girl.

So car seats... what kind of car do you drive again? I can't remember. Even though we have an SUV that seats 7 I have all 3 car seats in the row behind me to make it easier to get to them if they are having issues. So with our car seats we just kept the infant seat that we have always had which is a safety 1st one, then we put Allison in a cheap cosco car seat since they are so thin, I can't find a pic of the one that we have but it's like this one although ours is blue and gray http://www.walmart.com/catalog/product.do?product_id=10759857 Emmie is in this evenflo booster seat http://www.evenflo.com/product.aspx?id=109&pfid=41

I don't know how big your backseat area is but these ones fit fine for us. It took us a while to figure out which seating arrangement worked best with getting the kids in and out of the car but what we've found is having the littlest behind the passenger seat so I can give her a bink if she needs it while we drive, Emmie sits in the middle and can get in and buckle herself and then Allison sits behind me and if I need to give her anything while we drive I just give it to Emmie to pass to her. Luckily you have a bit still before you have to deal with all this but you'll figure out fast what works for you.

Boy, blogs are great! So much good information and advise on carseats and all kinds of things. I hope you find what you need. Putting Logan in the middle would probably work best that will be the seat most difficult to reach and he'll be able to get in himself. Good luck! (Blu Gramma)

Let me introduce you the Sunshine Kids Radian car seats - narrow enough to fit three across. The new Combi Coccorro also supposedly fits 3 across - at the ABC Kids Expo they displayed it installed three across in a Corolla. I installed one in my Nissan Versa Hatchback and it looked like there was plenty of room for more. Though it wasn't as easy to install as the Radian car seat.
